Bye then, Newsmax walked away from future talks so if they decide to return is up to them.

Newsmax has decided to leave DirecTV. Unless they make a new offer for a carriage agreement, which DirecTV is willing to listen to, then Newsmax will remain gone. To educate yourself: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/
Your "12 years" means nothing in this situaiton. DirecTV cannot force Newsmax to return and Newsmax cannot force DriecTV to accept their new higher cost offer. If you cannot live without the channel, then it is on you to switch to a provider that has it. Though bear in mind, that is not a guaranteed permanent solution. Channels are subject to change with any provider.

I ditched Directv for Dish because I prefer to get all of my news and entertainment from a single provider and save it to DVR. That provider used to be Directv, but no more. Right now I'm taping Newsmax and other channels while typing here so I can view my favorite programs at another time of my choosing. No going from one free App to another for the programming I want. Directv subscribers on here think they're getting a bargain paying for 20+ news channels that say the same thing over and over. Dish still provides a variety of news programs throughout the political spectrum.

Reports are that Dish and DirecTV are currently trying to merge. The major hold-up appears to be that Dish wants controlling interest. So beware of any future negotiations.

Rumors of a merger between DIRECTV and Dish have been going on for maybe 10 years or more. I wouldn't put much stock in it.

I'm not. I use the app and watch the same live content free.

Love the responses from the "experts" here who all say they're non-employees of DIRECTV, but have tens of thousands of messages each to their name saying this would go away if NewsMax would only make a new offer that is acceptable to DIRECTV. What they don't say is the new offer must be FREE, because DIRECTV has already said it won't even pay NewsMax a penny per subscriber. That leaves ZERO wiggle room to negotiate. In the meantime, DIRECTV is paying CNN $14 per subscriber. This is the same channel that spread the Russia collusion hoax to its viewers, has been on the wrong side of most important news stories, and YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT. I'll admit that I was too until recently. I would suggest you and everyone else move to Dish TV. I did and now I'm paying less with a similar package, plus the price is guaranteed for 3 years.

Then why are you still here? You are paying for it, so enjoy. I am not paying for it and enjoying FREE. So what's the big deal?

Source? I don’t believe that for an instant. I might believe they are paying $14 for a package of WarnerMedia channels that include CNN but no way they are paying that much for just CNN. If they paid that much for channels, the monthly bill would be in the $1000’s.

@marvin43 I am no expert and I am not an employee. I pay my Directv bill every month. I agree that Directv did not give a very fair offer to Newsmax which is why Newsmax walked away from the negotiations. But I also as a customer of Directv do not want to pay more for something that I can watch for free elsewhere. I do not want my bill to go up any more than it already has. As for your complaints about CNN since you decided to change services to Dish (sorry to burst your bubble) BUT YOU'RE STILL PAYING FOR CNN just like you were when you had Directv. But good luck with your new service.

Customers are fully aware that DIRECTV, Dish, Xfinity and streaming services include channels some people will never watch. We all know it, including me. I wouldn't doubt that 75% of the channels available to customers of these services are not even watched, but these channels are part of a package deal. That's fine. No one here is demanding all left-leaning and far-left news channels be deplatformed by these services. That's a game Democrats play, like in the letter from Congressional Democrats, which sure looks and smells like censorship. I would bet most people complaining about it here just want some balance in news coverage and they've stopped getting that with this move from DIRECTV. There are over 20 news channels on DIRECTV that lean left and many are far-left. As a former DIRECTV customer, at least now I get 1 news channel I want.
Queue the "negotiation" excuse and the "free App" message again.

You've been in your cubicle too long. I would hardly call it ranting. It's just facts you're unwilling to accept.
I am surprised though that DIRECTV rewards you with perks like that glamorous 2021 Achievers Award signature for demeaning and insulting their current and former customers. It doesn't seem like a good marketing model.

An example response from the 2021 Achiever Award recipient above is:
"Cancel! No one here cares. This is just an open community forum of users and subscribers."
It really makes you wonder if DIRECTV knows what it's doing.
