Newsmax

When is Newsmax going to be re-instated? I chose Direct TV so I could watch Newsmax. You will lose many good paying customers by restricting the access to good news programming. Greta, Rob & Eric are watched nightly. You don't need Newsmax, I don't need Direct TV. 

Statement from AT&T

On multiple occasions, we made it clear to Newsmax that we wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base.

Anyone, including our customers, can watch the network for free via NewsmaxTV.com, YouTube.com and on multiple streaming platforms like Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Google Play.

We continually evaluate the most relevant programming to provide our customers and expect to fill this available channel with new content.

Maybe, maybe not.

I’m suspect of this because of the way it’s been going for conservative media- and not just on television, but social media as well. Plus another poster had pointed to the two members of Congress who have been pushing for this exact thing to happen.  There IS censorship going on, as proven by the recent release of information by Elon Musk vis-à-vis Twitter.  Much was going against conservatives prior to his ownership.  There is NO denying that.

To all of those (I suspect) teenagers or young adults who are posting that people need to call DirecTV and not direct their comments here, they are just venting and hoping to change their stance, as is their right to do.  I’m sure they realize they need to call them to cancel.  DirecTV is most certainly looking at these comments and seeing the outrage, and hopefully will make the right decision. I’m seriously doubting it’s just a business dispute. I think it’s being used as a guise.  It’s a convenient excuse to drop them if it doesn’t work out.  If I’m wrong I apologize, I’ll never know really, but one can’t be faulted for thinking the worst after everything that’s going on the last few years!  

Directv lost me today.  Suspended my service.  Will close my account next week.  After they dropped One America News, dropping Newsmax is the last straw.

Good god, Newsmax asked to be paid for the programming they have been giving to Directv.  They want to be paid like MSNBC or CNN, and people on this board seem to thing that's outrageous.

Yep-I just checked the channel and it’s gone…anybody out there know what “The First” is?  That’s what they have at the top of the screen saying it’s coming soon.

Condew 2-Just looked this up-this channel is actually going to be possibly a good conservative news channel with Bill O’Reilly so you might want to rethink stopping the service just yet. I posted a new thread on this.  Just thought everyone should know about it.

They claim it is because Newsmax wants more money. They claim that would force them to charge their customers more money. Yet they have no problem charging me for CNN, MSNBC, Young Turks, etc. The position that we can simply watch Newsmax online is also true for the Leftist news channels that I never watch. Dish is offering Newsmax on all of their packages and a $100 gift card.

....and it's free with their own streaming service.
