Newsmax
I switched from Xfinity/Comcast to AT&T and now AT&T is cancelling Newsmax which have more viewers than other news channels they are keeping. If AT&T does not resolve and restore Newsmax by Friday January 27, 2023 I will be switching back to Xfinity/Comcast, very disappointed in AT&T.

We’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully by then an agreement is settled between DIRECTV and Newsmax so you won’t have to go through the hassle of cancelling.

DirecTV canceled Newsmax and also just raised their monthly rate, so now I will be cancelling my DirecTV subscription. Others should do the same. You can still watch Newsmax on Sling or Fubo.

It's another attempt of the "swamp" to keep the truth from the Am erican people.

If they were paying for it, they should drop it, it is a free channel you can get with an app, or in other services like Pluto or Amazon TV. Put the money toward programing you can get elsewhere.

Dish is advertising Newsmax with all packages and a $100 gift card. Gonna be switching soon if Directv doesn't get this straight.

Paying for another steaming service just to get Newsmax is absurd when they offer the same live content free using their streaming service.

What's absurd is paying for a satellite service that cuts channels! Might as well jump because this agreement isn't going to happen.

True if the reason you subscribed was for a network no matter where you went charged, but Newsmax is free with the same live content offered by those subscription services. It's even offered free on standard YouTube.

I can't believe the same people keep saying over and over again "it's free", "use their streaming service", go to the "tvpromise" website. The reason why people are angry and do not want to accept this change (or want to cancel ATT services) is because it is easy to switch to different channels on DirectTV, use the DVR service, have the on-screen programming guide, all in ONE location. I don't believe it was the carrier fee issue and even if it was, they were asking for a small nominal fee compared to some of the other subscribers. Newsmax would not be so vocal about the issue if they did not think they were being singled out versus other channels on the platform.

You're assuming that everyone has access to streaming speed, unlimited internet. The same can be said about CNN, MSNBC, etc. Why not offset the cost of Newsmax by eliminating those two?

These people with the badges and the little statements saying that they're not employees are phishy to me.
The point is we pay for a satellite TV service. They cancel channels just because MEH...they feel like it. They profit hundreds of millions of dollars and stick it to you. And these trolls come on here "Stream it..." blah, blah blah. That's not the point. We PAY for this service too! We can't have a voice?!? We can't go to the company for doing us a disservice?!? What kind of nonsense is this???
You know, maybe I will take my business somewhere else. I don't need this kind of (Edited per community guidelines) from a company that serves up these bots in a freaking forum. If this is the way they want to go...fine. But if there is a mass exodus, the snarky bots and badge-holders can have fun with the rate hikes. Because you know DIrecTV needs to keep those dollars up.

Yeah. I noticed this same "not a DIRCTV employee" making the same comments on other treads, including my own.

I'm waiting a bit, but if they continue to financialloy support low-viewership liberal outlets but refuse to pay minimal fees to conservative outlets, I'm dropping my service. With Directv, I already pay for a zillion channels I don't watch -- because I have no choice with the package structure. Now they are dropping the channels I *do* want to watch so they can divert money to the channels I don't want to watch. This is silly. They should pay appropriate fees to all the networks based on viewership and offer a la carte channels. This is very disappointing. It used to be there were no other choices. Now there are. I'll give it another month...
