Newsmax censoring

The contract expired so newsmax removed their feed to DTV.

DirecTV didn't want to continue with OANN, so let the agreement expire. That was announced in advance so people could make their decisions on what they were going to do.

With Newsmax, they have been negotiation. But both sides did not come to a new agreement by the deadline of the current one. As such the feed is no longer obligated to be provided. Usually such a situation is by the choice of the channel owner, instead of leaving it on a sign of good faith for negotiations.

There is still a chance for negotiations to come out of this stalemate and return the channel. But we do not know if that will happen or how long it will take.

This is not governed by the 1st Amendment. That doens't mandate what channels a TV provider must or must not have. They can do business with whatever channels they want. Newsmax is still free to pursue or keep other viewing options. So though content you want is not on DirecTV, it does not violate the 1st Amendment. Pay TV is optional entertainment, nothing about it are you entitled to.
