Is it really over for Newsmax on Directv ?
Is this it ? Have all negotiations stopped ? Need to make some decisions.
Thanks,
Glen

No, absolutely not. They are negotiating as we speak. If all goes well, the channel could be back by midnight today..

Thanks for the Info, I hope they bring them back the only way you can have a true News Value is too hear both sides.

No, not yet. Unfortunately, we are customers like you so we know just as much as you do about the matter. It’s just a matter of being patient and waiting for any sort of progression.

Statement from AT&T:
On multiple occasions, we made it clear to Newsmax that we wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base.
Anyone, including our customers, can watch the network for free via NewsmaxTV.com, YouTube.com and on multiple streaming platforms like Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Google Play.
We continually evaluate the most relevant programming to provide our customers and expect to fill this available channel with new content.

It's real hard during these negotiation to sort out the truth. I can understand Newsmaxs side with the lower rating of other news broadcasters that Directv is paying for, they should be paid and the others cut to make up the difference.
On the other hand Newsmax would not have the viewing audience to market for advertising dollars if not for DirecTV. I have thought this way a long time about the local broadcasters charging a fee to Directv for broadcasting their signal to a much bigger market than they would have without this rebroadcast. If all they could reach was Over the Air antenna, which with a Digital signal does not reach out as far as the old analog signal used to be able too. They have a much smaller viewing audience with Digital signal. In turn they would not be able to market such a large viewing structure and it would be cut in half at a minimum.
If only these Two Giants could see the benefit each provides for them, rather than what one is getting that the other one isn't in $.
I sure hope they can begin to see this and get something done, without who now is worried about egg in ones face.
The is a BIG loss to all involed when things like this don't get worked out.
Fingers Crossed.
