It was indeed dropped, you can cancel by calling in (number in my greeting below) and saying ‘cancel’ to the robot. All leased equipment gets returned to a participating FedEx or UPS location with your account number. Be sure to keep the receipt given to you by the clerk so you can avoid the possibility of an equipment non return fee (ERF) as you now have proof of return.
Additionally, if you are somehow still locked into a contract, DIRECTV will charge you $20 for every month left. This is known as the early termination fee (ETF). These are restarted when you add/upgrade to new equipment or move services to another address. If you haven’t done this within the last 2 years, you should be good to cancel without the fee.
When DirecTV dropped OAN, I was "outta there!" With the rising prices, but not much they offered that I even wanted to watch, it was an easy decision. Their over- priced service, lack of quality customer service when calling in, and then dropping some of the only programs I even cared to watch --- well, I do not regret the decision to drop them at all. Now I am subscribed to two streaming entities that make it easy to watch what I want to watch (when I want to watch it), and combined they do not cost anywhere as much as the "dud" options I had with DirecTV. Their prices are insane.
Now I'm researching how I can switch from my ATT cell phone service to another provider. I am so done with these (Edited per community guidelines)!!!
I've also told my investment professional that if any of my investments are in anyway connected to DirecTV / ATT, then get my money out of them never put my hard-earned money into them.
I changed my cell phone service from Verizon to T-Mobile. $15/month prepaid. I see no difference in service. It's worth to me since I don't use much cell data and I live in a rural area.

Agreed. Directv is already expensive. Another reason to drop it all together.

This is just a public forum of other customers.

Thanks for the info. Looking at HULU + TV as an alternative.
