DirecTV is not dropping Newsmax. Instead, Newsmax and DirecTV are negotiating the carriage agreement. Sure Newsmax could pull the feed if an agreement is not reached by the deadline, but that is their right and not a guaranteed end to negotiations.
We as customers just have to wait and see what happens.
I have been a customer of DirecTV customer for 14 years. I was upset when OAN was deplatformed and now am even more upset that Newsmax has been deplatformed. I will wait a bit to see what they end up doing, but I am now seriously researching how to deplatform DirecTV and replace them, despite my having bought a great deal of expensive DirecTV equipment over the years . Not to mention that my bill has tripled since I started... Not a happy camper.

Newsmax has a free app. Watch their faux "news" spew there.
