Directv Stream Question
I am considering a Directv Stream account to use in our primary residence in one state and a vac property in another state. However, I want to continue to be able to watch my home state baseball games on Bally sports. Will I be able to do this using a roku device as my streaming platform?

all good points, seems like I won't know until I try it. I was going to use You Tube TV, but they don't carry Bally. The vac prop only has 2 TV's so the limit on 2 streams while away is not an issue. Just trying to make sure it will work away from my home network. The bally part isn't a break point while at vac property so long as I can stream live TV while away.

I would think you would get different locals and regional sports because it would be based on the area that your internet connection is located but I could be wrong.

Could be. However I think DIRECTV STREAM gets it via location services and the origination of your IP address. Since the Roku doesn’t have location services, it doesn’t know better to display the locals or in this case Bally Sports for the market you are in.

@detuch254 I understand what you are saying. But even if they set up their Roku before they left for their vacation location when connecting to the new wifi network it would generate a new IP address that they would be connecting to and then show that they were not connected to their home network. Even though the Roku itself does not have location services I believe the Directv App itself does somehow as home location can be set with a Roku device. I know this to be true because when I first set up my Directv Streaming account all I had was Roku's devices before getting the osprey boxes and I had to set my home location or I would have only been able to have 2 streams because it would have consistently shown that I was away. So as I said before, I would think it would be based on the location they are connecting to, to determine the local/regional sports channels they would receive. But as I said before I could be wrong!

Yes, you will 100% be able to watch live tv while you are away. While away you will have access to 3 away streams 2 of which can be TVs the 3rd would have to be a device like a computer/a cell phone/tablet.
