Coax Cable
I have two coax locations for Directv but I need to move my internet connection. How can I only have one so I can move internet?

DIRECTV won’t service an internet company. They are solely for satellite service. If you’d want that family room coax to go directly to the power lines, you’ll need to contact your ISP.

DIRECTV has nothing to do with your internet connection. Are you referring to a DECA Broadband connection or a coaxial cable that connects your DIRECTV system to the internet? You need to be more specific on what receiver
models you have and what you are trying to do.

What sort of internet service do you have? That shouldn't be using your DirecTV satellite coax cables.

Thanks for your feedback, I will try to be clearer. I have coax entries in a bedroom that was once an office. I have separate coax for my internet provider and a separate coax for directv. I also have a coax in my family room that the internet provider states is configured for directv only. I want to move my modem into my family room but I am unclear how to do this. Any additional suggestions are appreciated.

Unless that coax in the family room is going directly to your outside power line for your ISP, this won’t work. You’ll either need to locate where the family room cable is going and ensure it is plugged into a wire running to the power line or have your ISP come out and configure that coaxial run for your router.

thank you for comments. My ISP is stating the family room coax is directv and running to power line and he cannot change it but directv might. Does that sound correct to you? I am open to having a Directv service call but not clear if the ISP service rep explained it to my house mate correctly.
