CBS
I think the Directv owes refund due to no CBS due to the current contract dispute. It is not like it is a cable channel. This is one of the three major networks of current programming. I am missing out on a lot of programs/sporting events due to the blackout in eastern Pennsylvania.

The only thing you can do is setup an OTA antenna to pickup your local CBS station. You can also try to stream CBS online or on a streaming device. There isn’t much else you can do. DIRECTV is not obliged to give you a refund (although they CAN kindly do so) as they have no control over CBS and its respective channel owner asking for more money.

TV providers do not own the channels. To that point, they all have a clause stating the programming (channels and content) can change at any time. No channel is guaranteed. As such, DirecTV owes you nothing.
Only the channel owner (likely not CBS itself, but a local affiliate), may return the feed. It was their decision to pull the channel while negotiating. This is a normal tactic hoping that upsetting us viewers will cause DirecTV to cave and agree to even higher rates (which then get passed onto us).
In the meantime plug in a regular antenna and get the free broadcast, including any other channels in range that DirecTV may not carry.
It doesn't matter if it is only a "cable" channel or not. It is not free as they charge to be carried. Why should TV providers and us customers keep paying more and more for channels that are available for free over the normal airways?
