Cancelling Newsmax?
Directv, you will be picking up all of your equipment at my garbage can and landfill if you go through with this cancellation!

DTV doesn't pick up anything, you own everything but the receivers. If you don't take any returnable receivers to a UPS/FedEx store to scan them in you will be charged the NRF.

I agree, after Directv has already cancelled One America News, if they cancel Newsmax I will no longer be a customer.

That is a rather arrogant attitude for customer relations, especially for a company that is bleeding customers, with a smaller customer base every year.

Try looking into the reality of the situation before flying off the handle.
DirecTV is not cancelling Newsmax.
DirecTV and Newsmax are negotiating their carraige agreement. Newsmax wants costs to be paid that DirecTV disagrees with. If an agreement is not reached by the deadline, then it is up to Newsmax if the feed is pulled or not. If that happens, they can still continue their talks and channel would be back when a new agreement is reached.
If you throw your euqipment in the trash, then it is your own fault for a higher bill. Upon cancelling, any returnable models are shipped back. DirecTV never sends techs to recover the equipment. If you want to cancel, go ahead and do so, but at least deal with it appropriately.

Not the same situation. DirecTV didn't even negotiate with OANN, just let the carriage agreement expire as they no longer wanted to stay in business with them. With Newsmax they are negotiating, but as normal are in dispute over costs. Hopefully a new agreement is reached before the deadline, but if not and Newsmax pulls the feed, then only can hope it is not too much longer until they hash it out and return the feed back.
Also, there is no "customer relations". This is a public forum of other customers. You want official support, call DirecTV. But know that those agents have no contact with the negotiating table.

They dropped Newmax. I'm definitely cancelling but the site was acting slow. They are acting like it was merely a negotiation, while they wouldn't give Newsmax an equitable fee even though they pay all the liberal stations much more than what Newsmax was asking, with most of the liberal fake news stations far below in the ratings. This is totally censorship of conservatives. We were contemplating dropping them anyway, but this was the nail in the coffin. Next is our very large cell ATT cell plan.

Thank God I only have TV and wireless! I have someone looking into this matter. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFETIME! I'm getting as far away from this company as I can get!!! Forget OANN and NEWSMAX!!! I refuse to be treated this way as they steal my money! Don't care if they reinstate both I'm out!!!

Direct TV is NOT negotiating with Newsmax. In fact, they told Newsmax that Newsmax would never be on their platform again. Direct TV has 22 LEFT news channels, and now, and with the replacement of Newsmax with The First, they have 1 Right news channel. The reason for the split was that Newsmax wanted what Direct TV gives EVERY LEFT leaning news channel, even the ones with no viewership, carriage fees. Newsmax is the fourth most viewed of the cable news channels and they asked for what Direct TV was giving ALL 22 of the liberal new channels. Direct Tv would not give them the carriage fees and allowed the contract to expire. ONE Conservative channel and 22 liberal channels. Sure, AT&T really believes in giving customers access to all views. Last April, Direct Tv got rid of OANN, giving no explanation for kicking them off of their platform. It is obvious that AT&T's actions were political discrimination and censorship. Left Censorship, pure and simple.
Good bye Direct Tv.

Well that was not true. DTV did drop NewsMax like it did OANN.
Carrying the DTV propaganda is not really doing your credibility well.

I left DTV when they dropped OANN. I also dropped AT&T and went to Patriot Mobile. Same plan for a 1/3 of the cost.
I use TIVO OTA and with the antenna and all the streaming services I have more than double of channels and programming all for FREE. TIVO does everything the DTV DVR did with commercial skipping of OTA shows.

@haulerboy_6 They will send you a box for the receiver and remotes. The dish itself is yours to do with as needed. I used my dish mounting to mount an Antenna where I get over 35 channels FREE. Get a firestick and download all the apps you will ever need.

I have been a Direct TV customer for over twenty years. I am very upset with Direct TV in cancelling Newsmax. I guess it’s time to look for alternatives. It seems ATT only targets conservative news. Shameful!

DirecTV did not drop it like OANN.
With OANN, they announced months in advance there would be no negotiations and they would not continue carrying the channel once the current service agreement expired.
Newsmax did have negotiations. But they did not reach an agreement so negotiations stalled out. Now a few days past that deadline with no update on negotiations continuing, and a new conservative channel announced, it appears that DirecTV got a better deal with a different channel.
There are differences. My credibility is just fine. Your not liking my perspective and recognizing the differences, that some seem to be ignoring, doesn't change that.
Though surprised with leaving DirecTV about a year ago because of the OANN situation that you still hang around DirecTV discussions. Figured you would have moved on if you were happy with your new option.

@Juniper I am very happy with my TIVO OTA and streaming apps. I only came back here because of the DTV now dropping NewsMax as well. Offering people options to still view the shows they want for a better cost and having choices.
