Canceling NEWSMAX made my decision easy now.

Newsmax is free by their own streaming app. Same live stream as offered by any service.

Yes, Yes it is.... beside the point. Maybe I like the convenance of just tuning into the channel of my TV subscriber. One where, you know, isn't doing a communist China thing like censorship and political discrimination.  

Your loss. It's available if you feel loss.

I would suggest YouTube TV. Great service and a lot cheaper than DirecTV Stream....but they do not offer Newsmax! Then again, it's free with their app!

DirecTV Canceled NEWSMAX. Meanwhile, DirecTV still carries 22 liberal news channels – all of them get paid license fees! DirecTV demanded that NEWSMAX receive ZERO cable license fees – even though it is the #4 cable news channel in America! And almost all of these channels have lower ratings than NEWSMAX.
Since DirecTV has chosen to cancel NEWSMAX I will chose to cancel my DirecTV service and save over $150 per month. DirecTV should remember there are plenty of other services waiting for the customers that leave DirecTV .

Called DirecTV and canceled my service. The customer service rep was very courteous and went through the offers to get me to stay.  DirecTV is offering a $10 credit for NewsMax being canceled during negotiations as he put it.  I was also offered a 1 year $50 discount but I told him that's not enough of a discount not cancel my service. I told him if DirecTV brings back NewsMax before my service is disconnected then I might stay....

Just move on. No one cares if you cancel.

Just letting everyone know about my customer experience and what DirecTV will offer people to stay. 

Fair enough. I’d rather you make a post about it on the forum though. It seems like a win win. One, you wouldn’t have to repost it over and over again in different threads. And, two, more people can see a post than a reply nestled in someone else’s newsmax post. Just my thoughts.. I appreciate your insight.

Why do you care? Are you a troll?  NM that is self evident. Why do I post? Because I am (Edited per community guidelines) off! I have been a customer for 28 years AND a stakeholder. You can allow yourself to be teabagged if you wish. I will be moving along, but not quietly. KMA

I for one am glad that the poster let everyone know how they were responded to by calling and canceling.

Obviously the ones with a problem with it are the ones that seem happy this channel might be canceled.

I’d say “Wait until it happens to you”, but you’ll probably never have a problem with a liberal channel being canceled.

Again, as I’ve written elsewhere, if I’m wrong about the motives then I apologize to DirecTV, but it doesn’t look good.  

Everyone here “whining” as one has said are actually not, but are intelligent people who fear for our country and free speech.  You might want to look up “Free Speech” in the Constitution as it seems to be on the way out, frighteningly so.  Then go and search out the countries that don’t have it or those in the past (WW Two anyone?) and where that ended up….

In the meantime, I’ll stay tuned and see what happens.

Very true.  Newsmax as I understand it stands alone, and is very new to the market.  Still, as someone stated, they have more viewers than MSNBC and CNN.
