What causes intermittent picture pixelation?

While watching TV, any channel or DVR program, the picture will pixelate (freeze). The sound goes out also. All new equipment was installed, except the wireless set top receiver and DVR, when I upgraded to ATT fiber. I've reset all equipment but that doesn't help. Thanks in advance.

If you have a coax install, that’s more than likely the problem.   The solution would be to move U-verse TV onto Ethernet.

Did you call 800-288-2020 for technical support? What did they suggest?

I am trying to avoid a lengthy phone conversation, but it's looking like that may be my only course of action. Thanks

@DDean6922

What else changed besides getting a new gateway.  Did the Uverse TV hardware get relocated?
I might try factory resetting the Uverse boxes to get them to pickup new network settings.

So the pixelation and picture freeze was also an intermittent problem, although occurring more often, prior to upgrading to fiber. I've had fiber now for a couple of months and it just occurred for the first time. I come home today and the problem has apparently resolved itself.

If it comes up again, I'll give tech support a call.

Thanks!
