Uverse TV Remote A30-RF1

You may need a new remote. Call 800-288-2020 as replacement orders can only be done over the phone. 

Make sure you didn't accidentally press the remote's tv, dvd, or aux buttons.  Press the ATT button on the top left to allow the remote to control both the tv and the dvr or receiver.

As for the remote controlling the tv functions.  In general these remotes control the tv's on/off. sound volume, and maybe the input select (e.g., which hdmi port the tv will use).  Anything else is pure luck.  So you should keep your tv remote nearby for additional tv functions.

As for replacing the A30-RF1.  You're on your own.  You can get them from Amazon, eBay, etc.  Just google for them.  Also look for A20-RF1's as well.  ATT may still sell them in it's "store" but I didn't check.  If you call ATT for a replacement the only remotes they replace for free are their IR remotes not the RF remotes.

So the can replace the 30 with the 20?
