U-Verse Movies on Demand freeze and glitch. Even the previews. It is like watching a bad antenna reception.
See the subject line. I had fiber optics put in so the speed is very fast so ideas? I did not have this problem
when the movies I could rent were not HD and now they are all HD so is that it? Or a bad connector
someplace? The U-Verse TV comes in fine so ??
I went through the usual reboot stuff, once it gave an error and another time is said to call for a person to visit.
The error is a gigantic string of numbers of letters that I can't attached to this - shoot.
It wants me to call the usual help phone number.

If you don't mind losing your saved DVR shows, you can always try swapping the DVR with a new DVR.
The bad thing...if the problem is still there, don't expect go back to your current DVR.

Definitely call.
Fiber speeds only affect download. At Internet 1000, you're basically going to download as fast as your device allows.

So where is the problem? All AT&T equipment except the Panasonic TV which works with live U-Verse TV just fine but not the movies on demand so ??
Why is it glitchy? A connector? I can play a Blue Ray DVD and no problems.
Thanks.

I have a problem on my DVR where HBO, Starz, whatever On Demand will sometimes randomly pause or play without sound. I don't think it's on my wireless receivers, but I don't watch enough On Demand to figure out why.
I've gotten around the issue by using the apps (such as HBO Max) via a streaming device. The apps have many more options than On Demand anyway.
The other option for me is to swap a wireless receiver with the DVR and put the DVR on a TV that I don't use as much...but then it'd take a couple seconds after switching channels in order to pause live TV.

OK. I have some sort of ATT box which showed up when I went to
fiber, but it still uses the "DVR" device to control U-Verse. Hmm, I may
have to call up the dreaded customer service - UGH!
I rarely ever rent a movie either (movie on Demand) but once in a great
while - hey, I want to see that - and now, it is working terribly!! Heck, can I get a refund for a movie I tried to watch?
Most likely, I have to get a bunch of new stuff, in the cloud and everything will cost more- at least when the promo. ends. Ugh.

OK. Well, I haven't recorded anything in a long time so nothing will be lost. I guess if AT&T is happy to send me a replacement that would be great! OK. Thanks.

They may want to send a DVR via FedEx or UPS. Maybe you can try to twist their arm and have a tech sent. It may not be the DVR, but if the problem is only that TV, it could be.
You'll have to re-hide any channels. Any shows you have scheduled to record will be transferred over...but since nothing is saved, nothing will be lost.

Are you connected via wireless, Ethernet or coax?
Switch to Ethernet. I had what seems like a similar issue...switched to Ethernet and the problem was gone.
Also...please don't respond to threads older than one year.
