Interesting question. My answer is probably not. Definitely not without hacking.
Disclaimer: I do not have a Show, I use a Fire OS Tablet in Show Mode where I would have put a Show (if it didn't cost more than twice as much).
There is a Fire OS U-verse App that runs on newer models of Fire Tablets that can give you some U-verse TV content, but the locked down nature of the Show means you'd have to hack the Show to have a prayer.
I don’t know much about the 3rd gen Show either, had to do some reading. Interesting gadget. The product briefing does state it can play Prime, Netflix and Hulu among other things, so there’s hope. One of the few benefits of U-verse left I think.
To get U-verse app, you’ll have to sideload it. Not a terribly complicated process. If you do this, be sure to use your primary U-verse member ID, unlinked from all other accounts.
