Uverse App
Uverse app is not accessible. "Has been this way for some time"? Why not just be honest and say the app does not work. Sorry for the inconvenience" as opposed to the hours of reinstalling, changing of passwords, dealing with unknowledgeable customer service people and being shuffled between departments. Only in this forum do I get any idea that there is an issue, yet the regular site advertised the Uverse app as such and awesome convenience for the customers. Infuriating experience. There isn't a category for this in the forum...No Uverse App designation.

But the app still works for many people. Me included, so saying "it doesn't work" isn't a generally true statement.

Jeffer,
Just spoke with AT&T. They admitted that it is a known issue that has been going on for 3 months. Glad your app is working. When it doesn't, good luck when you get to start dealing with Customer Non-Sevice.

Some users have been having authentication issues since late November. That's about half of 3 months. And not all users. Rumor has it that it's due to the DIRECTV split. Others think is has more to do with people who have had combined service access IDs. They may both be true for different accounts.
I'm always skeptical of "that's a known issue," because a lot of the time it's code for "won't you please hang up? there's nothing I can do with your problem, so what will make you let me go?"

@Decatur918
There have been so many threads on this topic. Yes, something has changed. There are things a user can do to help themselves get logged in.

The Uverse App was a GREAT APP until they did the vers. 6.5.1, Yet no one has a clue except the ones trying to get you to switch over to direct stream, hhmm. amazing marketing ploy yet stream doesnt have the perks and channels that uverse did. Shame on ATT and the ceo who sold out the uverse R&D.
