uverse app
Does anyone know what channels of my uverse tv package should be available on the uverse app? I have the regional sports package with my uverse u300 tv plan but the app won't let me watch the games live as the tv does. Is this normal, and then what good is the app? already been to att tech, customer svc, accounts, direct tv , etc. know one gives a good answer. Would love to see something in writing as I thought the app convenience was part of what I'm paying for.

I don't use the Uverse app that much but I do know that not ALL channels that might be in your package will be on the app.

The whole fox sports go to Bally transition has been an utter debacle for Uverse customers.
I used to be able to watch this stuff live, but no more.

So are the apps not associated with what we pay for? Is it just uverse or all the att tv services?

The best example is local TV stations. I’ve never been able to watch them in the app. Att would have to negotiate that in the carriage contract and for whatever reason we don’t have that here in south Florida. So no, just because you can watch something on the TV hardware doesn’t mean you can watch in their app.
I’ve been told the att tv product is streaming Bally sports in the fox sports go app, but Uverse is not.

As others have said, the availability differs based on what AT&T has negotiated with the channel providers. Some of the deals include streaming on mobile, some on streaming devices, some on neither. Some include various levels of video on demand access. And there is no printed list. AT&T treats streaming as "a bonus," not an integral part of your subscription. Which may be why I could not get logged in for several hours last night.
I checked last night and my app shows access to what used to be Fox Sports South, which is now Balley something or other, and I have been able to watch games on my phone on the past using the U-verse App, and using one of the two Fox Sports apps (I forget which one is correct for the RSNs).

Guys thanks for the responses but the question remains, how is the app associated with what I pay for? Is it supposed (obligated) to give me tnt, tbs, usa or any other channel that I have on my plan or is it something just used as a sales pitch that I should have no expectations for while I'm away from my TV? If so, why won't the tech support, cust svc, folks just say so and I can factor that in at renewal time.

My guess would be that it would be somewhat difficult for CS to know EVERY channel available in EVERY market.
I realize that many people live and breathe all the apps available to all businesses but apps DO have their limitations. For example: You can't order the $7.99 3 topping pizza on the Dominoes APP but you can on their website. Just sayin'......

It will give you the channels for which AT&T has negotiated a streaming right that are in your package. If it's not in your package, it will not show. If AT&T doesn't have streaming rights for it, or if the channel's technologies don't match what the AT&T U-verse App needs, then it won't show.
I see pretty good coverage of the channels I have, at least the ones that I care about. The Fox/Bally issue is adding some challenges in this area, but that will get worked out.
What are some specific channels of interest to you? You mentioned RSNs, which ones?

My specific ones are the RSNs, now Bally sports southwest, but even before the change fox sports was not always available live as promised and no help from the techies. Today in the ATT store they just said use the Fox app vs the uverse app. As an old guy, not a fan of "apps" in general, but my banking apps have been flawless, my security apps have performed as advertised so maybe I expected to much from just a TV app.

Last week I was doing some testing with ESPN and the U-verse app on a FireTV Cube. The ESPN app picture was clear and didn't buffer, where the U-verse App picture looked like it had been upscaled from 240 resolution and buffered for about a second roughly twice a minute. Other content on the U-verse App had no such issues. The live channel as provided by the U-verse TV Receiver was pretty much identical to that of the ESPN App.
As I said, I have used the Fox app before successfully, last time was in the fall of 2020; the only issue I recall with it was that if I took the option to start at the beginning of the broadcast, fast forwarding to catch up was a nightmare. I eventually gave up and went to real time after wasting 10-15 minutes trying to fast forward through the preliminaries.

One additional point. Att is not obligated in any way with the U-verse app AFAIK. It’s there to use as is with no specific entitlements.

@yadav2brand that's what I said. Word for word. You didn't quote mark it, nor add anything. Makes you look like a spam bot.
