uverse app - iphone/ipad ios 14 - local network privacy permission

If the app did not ask for local network access and in not listed in the local network privacy settings of the iphone/ipad, how can I add it to the list and grant permission? Deleting the app and reinstalling did not work. This is an iPad on ios 14... that was setup using an iPhone that had the app and already had local network access. Apple support and community is of no help.

@ghamer3545

I’m not convinced the app is coded to properly to support local WiFi in iOS.  We’re trying to get attention from dev to address some issues seen by many customers.

It works on 3 iPhone and an iPad.  It's listed with the other apps in local network permissions on those devices just not in this new iPad

We are here to help with the U-verse app, .

Thank you to the ace for the useful information.

We suggest that you reset your password, as this will resync all of your information for the app.

You can also reset your gateway, because this will refresh the app and the equipment.

Let us know if this helps.

Yes, I agree with you it’s there on my iPhone X running latest iOS 14, but somehow the connectivity is broken to the Uverse hardware, at least for the remote function.

The "remote" and "watch on" functions are the reasons I want local network permission. They both work on our iPhone ES and 11 and 2nd gen iPad Pro. I'm not a fan of resetting the password because it effects almost every ATT service and believe me that causes pain.  I'll reset the gateway in the morning but I doubt that it does anything to the app on a mobile device.  The app says it doesn't see the WiFi network. That's because it doesn't have permission and will not ask to allow it.  That is what needs to be triggered somehow.  Fix the app - please.

As I expected resetting the gateway had no effect.  The problem is between the app and iOS.

FWIW, the problem exists using Amazon Fire tablets as well, so not just an iOS problem.

Hi, ghamer3545.

Thank you to the ace for the useful information.

As they stated, this is a known problem with the U-verse app and our engineers are working as hard as possible to get it back up and running.

You will know when this is fixed when the remote function on the app works with out any problems.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach back out.

Thank you for choosing AT&T.
