UVerse App has started freezing

Recently, the uverse app has been freezing when I am watching different channels on my mobile. I have reloaded the app, tried different channels between SD and HD, and restarted my phone more than a few times but no change. I thought it might be buffering but it happens on both WIFI and cellular. Has anyone seen this?

Thanks for that information, Smeedawg!

Let's see if these troubleshooting options from our Help and Solutions guide for the U-verse app help at all:

  1. Delete the cache. This varies by phone, browser or device operating system.
  2. Turn off other apps that may be in use.
  3. In some instances, restoring the phone has resolved app function. You may lose pictures and other data if this is performed.

Let us know if this helped! If not, we have other options for you.

Hi , we want to help with your Uverse app.

Thank you for letting us know you've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app, as well as restarting your mobile device. These are great first steps in determining the correct path to take.

Please let us know if you're also experiencing buffering with your internet connection, as well as your internet plan. The higher the plan allowance, the more devices you can have connected without interference.

Please keep us updated!

Thanks Jennifer. I have a pretty robust home network with ~400Mbps down and ~25Mbps up. I don't have too many devices using my network most of the time when I am using my phone to view. Speedtest of my mobile connections is showing ~40Mbps down. I haven't seen the buffering message on my screen but viewing different channels still freezes and skips whatever was being shown.

This has also been happening to me on a regular basis, with the increasing frequency.  ATT has been absolutely no help...they are clueless, or act clueless in spite of there being many online posts just like this.  I too have been sent a new gateway and new boxes, and been told to plug power directly into wall outlets and not power strips, etc...a bunch of voodoo talk that has absolutely no effect on the problem.

I've timed how long things are normal in between freezes...it's a nearly constant 4-1/2 minutes.  And if the moment it freezes I switch channels and switch back, I'm good for another 4-1/2 minutes.  It's crazy...  Of course I have to restart the Gateway and boxes or this problem shows up as gaps in recordings.  It's infuriating.

If ATT doesn't get this figured out, and soon, they are going to be left holding a bunch of hardware in dusty warehouses and will be begging for new customers...
