USA isn't going anywhere. From the info in the email:
Most of the programming content on NBCSN will move to the USA Network, available on U-verse TV Channel East 124(SD) / 1124(HD) and West 125(SD) / 1125(HD). All other NBC programming will continue without interruption.
Yes, exactly. This discussion has nothing to do with U-verse TV and everything to do with Comcast. Assume most good content will be paywalled by Peacock streaming service.
I'm just sitting here preparing for the complaints from the "everything's streaming" people who were SOOO eager for ala carte channels just a few years ago.
As I questioned on another thread, I hope with the changes that USA will continue to show "Law and Order SVU"at times. I do not want to switch to streaming.
I remember when Nick GAS was folded. It actually stayed on some providers for longer, albeit on a programming loop...I guess to finish out those contracts.
I see SVU continuing on USA and other "versions" on WE and Sundance. I also have the free version of Peacock and I see various Law & Order episodes there.

"....move to...", not replace.

Also keep in mind this is a result of NBC Sports Network going away. This is across all providers. Blame NBC/Comcast for that decision.
USA Network is going to essentially copy TNT/TBS and show comedies, dramas, movies, sports and probably more.

Well hey, at least they got what they wanted.

There is now a temporary information channel on 639 and 1639. Hopefully this will help answer many questions.

@baseballisback
Pretty interesting, huh. The info page points to a Directv website in case there was any doubt who’s in charge of U-verse TV.
Hopefully I’m just stating the obvious here as programming is controlled by Comcast and not Att or Directv.

It appears you're good to stay with U-Verse.
