Unable to Stream from Uverse Fire TV App on Insignia Fire TV Edition.

The Error message I  get is

Error from Internal Player:

com.quickplay.vstb.plugin.player:

NexPlayerListener.onStatusReport()

msg=NEXPLAYER_STATUS_REPORT_

VIDEO_GET_CODEC_FAILED(com.qu

ickplay.plugin.player.nexplayer:10203)

(com.quickplay.vstb.core:1404) – see internal error for the detail.

Contacted Fire TV Customer service, they have mentioned this could be an update related issue with the app itself.

nervelessness, they have escalated the issue on their end and recommended to contact you guys as well.

Factory reset my Fire TV Edition insignia TV thrice already. The App works on my other Fire TV Sticks.

Hey, @AmazonianSika.

Thanks for reaching out. We'd be glad to help you stream on your Fire TV.

Since factory resetting the TV itself had no effect, we'd recommend first rebooting your gateway, and then restarting your U-verse receiver afterwards, specifically in that order. To reboot your U-verse receiver, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. This takes 5-8 minutes and will impact any DVR recordings in progress.

Let us know if this helps!

firetv started having issues with switching input to watching TV and when I switch to watch hulu then switch back to input, it stays on a gray screen. It requires me to reset the tv for the input to load the channel. The same happens if I've been watching uverse on input then try to switch to an app like youtube , I'd get a notification that media playback won't play. I've reset the gateway and turned off power to everything and back on. Once last week, there were about 4 firetv updates. All the lights are green on the att gateway. What is going on?

Glad to help you troubleshoot your Fire TV, dtrinh628.

Try these options from our article on Connecting your Amazon Fire TV/Stick:

  • Restart your Fire TV/Stick by unplugging the device, waiting 40 seconds, and plugging it back in.
  • If connected wireless, try moving the router or Fire TV/Stick around to avoid any other devices that may cause interference.

We also recommend performing a non-disaster recovery on your U-verse receiver:

  1. Unplug the receiver or DVR power cord from the wall or back of the box.

  2. Wait 10 seconds.

  3. Plug in the receiver and DVR.

  4. When three white dots appear on the screen, unplug the receiver/DVR again.

  5. Repeat this process two more times.

  6. Plug the receiver/DVR back in on the third time and leave in. Three white dots appear followed by a gear with a status bar at the bottom of the screen. If the Recovery screen does not appear, repeat the steps above.

You'll also want to contact Amazon to see if there's an ongoing issue with Fire TV.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
