TV Picture fades out to black

My Samsung TV worked fine when I turned it off last night. This morning it comes on to a black screen with QLED letters, goes on to the TV  channel and within seconds fades away to a black screen for several seconds and then repeats this pattern continually. Every so often I briefly see an HDMI Error but it fades off too fast to read the rest of it. I switched out the HDMI cable with one from my other TV and it didn't help. I tried unplugging and plugging, rebooting the cable box and changing batteries in the remote. The fading continues for about 30 minutes and then the TV works as it should. Any ideas what the cause is and how to fix it? I still have the original cable box from the initial installation years ago.

If you have multiple TV receivers, switch them between TVs.  If the problem follows the receiver, then your receiver may be worn out and need replacement.  If the issue remains with the TV, the TV may have developed the issue.

This receiver is the primary one. I will try switching but I didn't have the time right now and I was hoping it would be a simpler fix. My thought is also that the receiver may have reached it's age limit. The TV is only 4 yrs. old and is fine once it starts working normally.

The description sounds as if the TV is the issue. Once the tv gets warmed up not having a problem, correct?

Forget about using Uverse receiver, can the tv connect to a DVR or streaming service, if so does the same problem occur?

Placing a different Uverse receiver (wireless if have one)  the TV is the problem repeatable.

That's a good idea too...use a streaming stick or something else in another HDMI port.

Amazingly, this no longer seems to be an issue. The TV and the receiver came on this morning as usual. I don't know what the glitch was but everything has been working just fine now. Thanks for your suggestions. If it happens to start up again, I will most certainly try them.

So just an update to my post: The problem started again the next day only it was worse. After researching the problem I was having I found it was the TV and not anything to do with AT&T or any of the equipment. I did have a new receiver box sent to me and hooked it up but it made no difference to the TV. The other TVs in my home were working just fine. Long story short, I ended up scrapping the TV at a nearby recycling event for no cost and buying a new TV which is also working fine, as it should.
