Should be bannedAll of these (Edited per community guidelines) companies send you debit cards now instead of a check.
All of these (Edited per community guidelines) companies send you debit cards now instead of a check. Then the debit cards fail to work or have automatic reductions after a period of time. I see ATT is now doing this.
I had a refund from my DirecTV account cancellation, and I got a debit card in the mail. It wouldn't activate online, so I had to dial in to do it. I'm sure the reason they do this is because they're not charged until the debit card is used. And statistics show a significant level of gift/debit cards are never drawn down to zero.
There should be a law giving the consumer the right to how they want to receive refunds. And check should be the default, not these criminal debit cards.

No, instead they pay a reduced rate for the card, i.e. a $50 rebate card costs them less than $50 from the card issuer; the card issuer prices the card based on their experience on the average card being redeemed or forgotten.
The debit cards are inconvenient, but they are not criminal. Many people prefer them to a check. Some people want their tax refunds this way. I don't, but...

What a shame if ATT actually follows through and doesn’t renew the One America News contract. This is a good indication that ATT is suppressing news for the conservatives that depend on fair and truthful broadcasting. I for one, as a loyal customer of ATT for years, will be sad to say Goodbye!

@Bklueber You're either mis-informed or in the wrong place.
The cancellation of OANN is only affecting DirecTV and you have posted on the UverseTV forum.
