Remote not working in U-verse iPhone application

The remote control portion of my U-verse application does not work. I keep getting a message that says "u-verse wireless gateway not found". The rest of the app (guide, dvr, live) works fine, but the remote can't do anything. Please advise how to fix this.

Hello @ngm8207!

Thank you for your response! We will need to make sure your iPhone and TV receiver are on the same subnet. Access the router page at 192.168.1.254 and go to the device list. There you should see your phone and receiver. Please click here for additional details. Have a great rest of your day!

Hello @ngm8207!

Being able to use your device as a remote control is definitely convenient. Please make sure the U-verse app is up to date, as well as the device software. You can also uninstall/reinstall the app and reset your gateway. Hope this helps! Have a great day!

I had this issue using a different wireless router with the U-verse gateway. I set my netgear wireless router to access point mode to fix.

I've tried everything you suggested several times to no avail. I'm hoping
you can offer more help than just general install/restart suggestions that
I've already gotten several times from tech support over the phone.

The remote feature of the app is working just fine with my iPhone 6s.

It is difficult to pinpoint what the issue is when it is effecting an individual phone or device.

Everything’s been updated,

Everything’s been restarted,

Everything’s in the same subnet,

yet still... “gateway not found”

I'm having the same problem, but on Android. Phone is a Galaxy Note 9. Used to work until March 15. Don't have any idea what happened.

StevenJV not sure if you will ever see this - but did you get your problem fixed?  My remote always worked until a few days ago (1) I did get a new SIM Card for my phone  (2) My phone did recently update to iOS 13.1.2   -   not sure if it was one of those things that did it - but - I can't seem to get it fixed....   arghhhh

Same since the update to IOS 13. Considering the weakness of the infrared signal on the remote, my box is almost inoperable right now.

This is infuriating! So many people with this problem, yet AT&T seems not to care at all!

And it's not just iPhone, its android too. Seems the problem is definitely on their end. Just ridiculous.

Can those that have this issue check to see if they have 15 devices connected on the enabled apps page channel 9301 I am thinking it may have maxed out on devices the procedure to delete the devices doesn't work either
