Questions about the new U-Verse app
Just got the new app on mar 2, 2024 for my Houston Uverse account. There are several things I could do on the old app that I haven’t figured out how on the new app. I’ll just name one for now. When looking at the guide to see what is on, there are several channels missing. Example NBC ch 1002 and CBS ch 1011. Are they not supported in the new app or am I doing something wrong?

Hey @ccastr50, we understand that you have confusion using new U-verse app on IOS, we want to guide you through the right path.
We recommend you to check on how to connect to your U-verse TV service using the U-verse app on your smartphone or tablet. Then, use the U-verse app to:
To find out U-verse tv channel info, select Guide on your remote control, or sign into the U-verse app. You can print a channel lineup PDF.
We also recommend checking on How to access program guide.
Let us know if this helps.

While I have not had tv services since 2010, I suspect the APP is for NATIONAL channels where the channel number is the same in all markets... local channels are market specific so unless there is a way to list your choice the local channels are not displaying...ABC, CbS, NBC, PBS as.examples of local while ESPN is example of national channel.

Thank you Bruce. Are you saying that I need to go thru the setup process all over again with this new IOS app? The old Uverse app was working fine. And with the NEW IOS Uverse app I can see my recordings (at least most of them) with space used and I can see the Channel guide (although as mentioned, not all channels are visible). I can see ABC ch 1013, ESPN ch 1602, etc, etc but I don't see a bunch of them like CBS and NBC.
Also, with the old app I could easily set the starting channel in the Guide channel listing but don't see a way to do that in the new guide listing. I just have to scroll and scroll down to the channel I am interested in instead of going directly there.
I don't think I have to connect the new Uverse app all over again as I do see some things on it as mentioned above. I did go to the webpage you mentioned but didn't see anything that I needed to do that wasn't already done.
Am I the only one that downloaded the new ios Uverse app that is having difficulty doing these things? Is there a way I can go back and download the old Uverse app on my iPad and iPhone as it was a nice app?
Thank you so much.

Hey @ccastr50, thank you for writing back to us, let's get the help you need.
U-verse TV channel lineups vary based on location and U-verse TV package. You can access your guide in several ways and even print your channel lineup.

I have the U450 Uverse plan. Again, I can see lots and lots of the U450 channels BUT not all of them. Many are missing. Like NBC ch 1002. I don't understand why.
Let me ask the community. Has anyone out there with the U450 plan downloaded the latest UVerse/DirectTV app Version 7.2.0 onto your iPhone or iPad? And if so, are you able to see all channels and do everything you were able to do on the old app?

Update: I called Tech Support and they said NBC and CBS have requested their channels not be listed in the new app. They were in the old app but not in the new app. NBC and CBS ARE listed on my DVR and I can watch them, of course on my DVR. The answer doesn't make sense. Why would NBC and CBS not want us to know what shows you can watch and record when using the new Uverse app? Makes no sense to me. Again, am I the only one that has upgraded to the new IOS Uverse app and cannot see all channels and cannot schedule recordings on NBC and CBS (and many other channels that don't appear in the app)?

It's horrible! I just use it to access my DVR when I am away from home, but now the list is gone, all tiles. But I can't see how to delete recordings anymore using the app. Can't get it to do anything when I click on a recorded show. The old one was so easy to see what was coming up and what was already recorded. Who thought this was more user friendly? This new UI (Edited per community guidelines)!

Yes, this started as iOS, but since they're largely the same app, I don't think we need two different threads.

It sounds like the new app does not work properly in iOS or Android form. I have reported this to AT&T through my account as well, but nothing seems to be happening there either. You would think that when they actually decided to update the app, they would test it before forcing it on us.

The article you are linking to is from 2022...NOT the updated app which does not work or do anything like the old one for DVR recordings....It is useless!

This new app (Edited per community guidelines)! There is no “guide” for all channels that are available on the tv guide. As with prior comments, our local channels for example no longer are shown in the list that could previously be selected for recording. We used to be able to select the channel range and time, and can no longer do this for ALL channels. I understand there were limited channels I could watch “live”, but those are NOT the only channels I may wish to schedule recording of. Bring back the old app!!!! (Or is this just a way to get me to switch internet/tv vendors?)
