The three channels listed in my market are a Christian Programming Station and two PBS stations.

Well, if there's two, it seems one would be a subchannel.

It's a little more complicated than that. The DMA is western NC and northwestern SC.  There is actually a third PBS station, an SC ETV station, that isn't listed.  The two listed are both PBS NC and use a different multiplex arrangement, so the .1 (main) channel of each has different content (limited overlap), and is distinct from SC ETVs programming and schedule.

I wonder who pays who for carriage, or is it currently free and DIRECTV wants to change that.  I'm betting Dove has been paying for carriage of WGGS.

That’s quite a long list. Bigger than usual or same old same old?

This is the first formal notice I’ve seen where DirecTV is shown as the owner of U-verse in practice.

It does seem like a long list.  I hadn't been observant enough to see that UNC-TV is listed in every market that includes NC, so that's good for about 10% of the list.  Trinity Broadcasting owns at least a few of these.  There is probably another multi-market owner I'm not catching.

It always seems longer when local channels are included.

A condensed version (without locals) appears to be NBC national channels, Showtime/TMC and various others.

And yeah, I that this is the first time DIRECTV is listed as the owners.

I have no use for it, but it'd be interesting to know why they're removing my Telemundo.

It's all about retransmit consent.

One of those Spanish language networks is owned by NBC Universal, IIRC.

Telemundo is owned by NBC.

The language "will be removed" makes me think it's something besides a normal contract negotiation.

I'm thinking the Telemundo issue may be a shift to carrying local Telemundo station in those markets rather than a national channel.  Or that channel could have been the local channel in that market and they're dropping it.

My Telemundo is channel 3005 and in SD, if that matters.

My local affiliate is Columbus – WQMC-LD 23.3

I think I get two others that are "-TV" One of them is WSFJ and the other is 4.2, which I happen to get a national feed of on channel 195, aka ION...also up for renewal.

It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, happens.

Seems to me it wouldn’t be in directv’s interest to lose that much content.

DirecTV as a company (in this case, U-verse) doesn't necessarily mean DirecTV as a service, IMO. The channel lineups can be as different as the company wants.

True, but it seems more plausible here to take the entire subscriber base when renegotiating a contract.
