No Uverse TV Sound/DVD Player Has Sound/Started After Setting Up New S30-S1B Remote Control

Hello there. Thank you for your help and insights. We just finished setting up a new S30-S1B remote control (VIP 2250 ARRIS DVR box/Sharp TV). Our Uverse SOUND disappeared completely. First time ever this has happened since activating UVERSE 10+ years ago. Our DVD player was not affected and still has sound. Other than NO SOUND, everything works right on the remote (Remote volume up/down works fine but no SOUND is heard). We tried the troubleshooter, we tried programming the remote using all SHARP codes, we restarted the Gateway multiple times, we restarted UVERSE multiple times ---all to no avail.

Our building is set up for fiber. We have ultra fast fiber internet. Internet is working fine.

Here are some tips you can follow to help fix your Uverse TV sound:

  1. Hold down the POWER button for 10 seconds.
  2. Press it again to restart the receiver. (This takes approximately 5-8 minutes and will affect any DVR recordings in progress.)
  3. Restart multiple receivers by unplugging each one for 5 seconds.

Thank you. None of your suggestions worked, unfortunately. Fortunately, I called ATT Uverse Support and "Richie" was able to "unmute" my Uverse from his end in a matter of seconds. He said this happens rarely but sometimes systems are muted from ATT's end. Advice: Skip troubleshooters, skip restarting -- just call 1-800-288-2020.
