FWIW if you properly configure TitanTV for you channel lineup (i.e., the ones you didn't hide in you Guide and/or Favorites) you can instantly see what's currently playing since TitanTV color codes the various show classes. Movies are colored yellow. Click on a movie and you can see what it's about.
Admittedly the initial setup is a bit time consuming, not unlike hiding channels in the dvr/receiver Guide/Favorites, but like the dvr/retrievers you only have to do it once (and tweak it every so often). You do have to register so it can remember your setup but registration is free.

With Uverse you can seach by name of movie, TV program, person or channel.
