Different channels are streamed from different content servers, based on who the content provider is. Since you mentioned channel "1006", that would be in your local channel group, which means that it could be the local affiliate owner providing the feed, or you could have a network owned and operated station, meaning the network would be providing the content server.
I've never been able to watch those in the app. It's not your device. It's most likely a contract between AT&T and whoever owns your local channel 6. (Maybe Sinclair, Nexstar, CBS, ABC, etc.)

What other channels play, or don't play?

1006 is definitely a local channel.

Thanks,
I get your comment, but I don't understand why I can watch that channel on my TV on Uverse service, but I can't on the ATT Uverse app?

Apparently and for whatever reason, your local affiliate is not allowing their station to be watched on the Uverse app.

I cannot watch my local affiliates LIVE on the app. I can record shows from the app on them, but the "Watch Live" button does not appear.
