Location of Closed Caption

How do I change the location of the Closed Caption using the remote? I would like to put it on the bottom of the screen.

Press menu on remote -> options -> system -> closed captioning.  Turn digital closed captioning off and standard closed captioning closed caption 1.   This will lower most (all?) captions on the screen instead of plastering them in the middle.

Interface must have changed. There are no “options” or “system” . There is “settings” and “accessibility.” Turning captions off and on doesn’t move captioning from top of screen.

@Mojomike - Nothing has changed.  Not sure what you are looking at.  Either reboot the dvr/receiver or if you are using DirectTV you posted to the wrong thread.

What is Service 1, Service 2, etc. on ATT remote for CC?  Does choosing one of those services move CC?  I am currently on Service 1.   I do not see the ability to move CC anywhere in Settings.  I would like to move it to the lower right corner of the screen.

We're here to assist with your Closed Captioning concern, @lilyvee!

You can take these steps here to enable closed captioning on your TV. When doing so, it should have the option to move the location, if possible for you:

  1. Press Menu on your U-verse remote.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Scroll to System, then press OK.
  4. Select Closed Captioning and follow the prompts.

Let us know if this helps! If not, we have a few more things we can try.

I do not have Options as you suggested, so I still need help with trying to move the position of CC on my screen.  My remote has:  Menu/Settings/Accessibility/Captioning:  Capturing, Digital Track, Font Size, Font Color, Panel Color, Font Capacity/, Panel Capacity/, Font Edge Color, and Font Edge Style.

We're here to help with your closed caption settings lilyvee.

Can you verify a couple of things for us first.

  • Are you using an app or do you have a receiver? This will help us with understanding what would be the best solution for you.
  • One other idea that may help would be to try disabling the captions through the U-verse box and enabling them through your TV se

Please let us know.
