KOCE/PBS/Channel 50/1050 and Masterpiece is not recording.

I live in Southern California.  It seems that the local channels are not listed on your channel listed, but PBS/KOCE is included in the plan.  So why am I not getting Masterpiece recording? 

I have missed several shows because of that. 

Yes, I do get PBS/KOCE for other programs.  Masterpiece is a weekly program on that channel. I missed the three episodes of Endeavor and I also missed the last few episodes of Around the World in 80 days, a few months ago.  Both those shows are on PBS.  I looked for them in the Search option and the reruns show up, but I did not get the first runs of the shows. I may have missed more of the shows shown on Masterpiece. 

I dont know if I can watch Passport... I was going to try.  But I don't understand why Masterpiece is not recording on U-Verse.  I havent tried watching live. (I never watch anything but the news live!) I was away for all three shows of Endeavour and I thought it would record but it didn't...  I wasn't paying attention before I left to see if it was set to record.  And now I wonder what else on Masterpiece never recorded that should have.

We recommend that you take these steps next time you attempt to record a show. Just to ensure that everything is being done properly:

None of the suggestions is helpful.  I know how to set shows to record... I have had Uverse for over 10 years.  And many shows are recorded as scheduled.  The KOCE shows are set to "series record" but for some reason only the Masterpiece shows were not recorded.  And there is nothing new coming up on the Guide or in the Search box... only reruns... Yet I know there are new episodes of Masterpiece coming up. 

I also know that KOCE was scheduled to broadcast Endeavor but my U-Verse did not record it.  Also, I was recording Around the World in 80 days last winter and all of a sudden, it stopped recording it.  I let it go at the time because I thought I had just gone off the air and did not pursue it. But now I realized I am missing out on a lot of possible shows and I am frustrated.  As far as I can tell, KOCE is still broadcasting Masterpiece in my area.

I appreciate the convenience of Passport, but I should not have to pay for a service that comes free on my TV.  I pay for some streaming services because there is no other way to watch those shows, and even then, I limit which ones I pay for.  But it is not acceptable that I am already paying for Cable subscription with U-Verse and not be able to watch what is theoretically a free show... as a matter of fact, PBS is a free channel available with an antenna... so for sure I should not pay to watch any of those shows.  Now if Masterpiece has become only a Passport show, then that is another issue... 

I understand that supporting PBS is important but there are so many causes that are important to support, it's not always possible to choose.  I would certainly consider it if things change. Meanwhile, I am trying to understand and resolve the issue of why Masterpiece is not available to record. 

Recording other stations have not been an issue. And recording on other PBS shows has been okay so far. I will have to check further into other possibilities. 

TO CALEB AT&T: I have been waiting for over an hour to get an agent on DM to respond and no one has yet come to the line. I cannot be at my computer any longer this evening to get a response.  How do I get in touch with someone tomorrow? 

Yes I will tomorrow. It looks like Masterpiece is set to record coming up on Sunday. I can’t figure out why but I had to reset the “series record” option.  Somehow the old series record option did not work though it is still listed.
