I've Lost U-Verse

On my smart Samsung TV, my U-Verse icon has disappeared and I can't get it back by going to the Samsung app store. On my other (non-smart) TV, U-Verse is working fine. I have tried to contact U-Verse tech support and not succeed. Have tried Chat too. ... If I can't get this fixed today, I'm going to cut the cord and cancel the service, which is costing me a ton. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth: By clicking on Devices and then clicking on Unknown, I found U-Verse, but it's a bit laborious to get to.

Yeah, that's no so much an "App" as it is a prettily named icon/shortcut to the TV input where your U-verse TV Receiver is connected.

That's all pretty much a feature of the Samsung TV itself, where it queries each HDMI port using HDMI-CEC to get a device name and then makes the shortcut.

If you’re looking at cutting the cord. Do your research. Before signing up for any service.

As a fellow owner of a Samsung TV, I concur with @JefferMC

That "app" doesn't really do much.

What might help:

Unplug the U-Verse box from the power. If this is the DVR, do it with at least five minutes before your next recording is set to begin.

Unplug the TV from the power.

Wait 30 seconds.

Plug both back in.

If that doesn't work, you can always try to reset the TV, but you might lose your other apps.

There *is* an option for a hard reset of the TV, but you'll definitely lose the apps. You can turn the TV on, then hold the power button on the TV itself for about 30 seconds or until the TV resets. This is an "option of last resort" and will absolutely cause all settings to be reset back to factory settings.
