It looks like U-verse TV guide listings that used to be named "Paid Programming" are now named "Teleshopping" as of yesterday.
Before I left home for work yesterday, I was flipping through my U-verse TV guide and saw a 30-minute TV show on We Network named Teleshopping. When I saw that show on the guide, I asked myself the question "What is this show about?"
After I asked myself that question, I turned it on and saw an infomercial for LifeLock. When I flipped through the guide some more, I noticed that listings that normally say "Paid Programming" now say "Teleshopping".
After learning that all of the listings that used to be named "Paid Programming" will now be named "Teleshopping", I said to myself that I never heard of the word "Teleshopping" before. Later that day, I Googled the word "Teleshopping"and found out that it is a word that folks who live in Great Britain used to describe what we Americans call "Paid Programming".
My two cents on the naming change: In light of finding out via Google that "Teleshopping" is a word that folks in Great Britain use, I think U-verse should change the listings back to "Paid Programming".
The reason why I think U-verse should change it back to "Paid Programming" is because it being named "Teleshopping" is going to cause a lot of confusion. I have lived in the United States for 24 years (I am 25-years-old.).
I was born here in the United States. During all of my 24 years of living here in the United States, I have never heard any of my fellow Americans use the term "Teleshopping" to describe "Paid Programming".
With that being said, I think that U-verse should change the U-verse TV guide listings for the shows that used to be called "Paid Programming" back to "Paid Programming" instead of having them being named "Teleshopping" to avoid confusion.

I made a mistake and said that they used to be named "Paid Programming" before they were named "Teleshopping". I meant to say that they used to be named "Paid Program" before they were named "Teleshopping" instead of saying that they used to be named "Paid Programming" before they were named "Teleshopping"..
