How do I see what channels are available on the U-verse app's the "Live" option?
I have the U-verse app on my iPhone. I can, of course, use it to check the schedule, as well as manage DVR recording selections.
However, when I try to use the "Live" option, I cannot watch some channels that should be available. I'm not speaking of the 'cable' channels such as The History Channel or TBS. Rather, it's the local stations. The only one that appears to be available is the local NBC affiliate (Ch 5, KXAS, here in the DFW area). The other local network affiliate & independent stations are not.
When I was on Spectrum, all of those were available when I was logged intomy own system, and I could watch any of the local stations. They were not available if I was not at home, because of limitations regarding media markets, but many of the cable channels were viewable, There were no restrictions on local channels availability when at home, as long as I was signed in to my home network.
Why is only the one 'local' station viewable, as long as I am logging in from my reistered network, at home?

Local channels available on the app vary depending on the agreements that they have with AT&T.
I can confirm that the local NBC affiliate is the only local channel available on the app while others in other markets say ABC is the available or CBS.

And I don't get any local channels on my app. It's interesting the OP chooses to start this thread well over a year from when U-Verse stops sales to new customers. The OP waited a long time.

I couldn’t agree more, but this is what we got. While it may seem trivial that we should get something simple like local channels, the people that run those channels don’t see it quite the same way and want to be compensated for their product.

I asked this question several years ago, whan AT&T was still actively promoting uVerse. Never got an answer that time either/
Your comment that I 'waited a long time' is off topic, & shows that your answer is useless.
I was not seeking access to any & all channels on uVerse, no matter where I was. As originally mentioned, when you are at your home (service) address, the Spectrum app allows access to any & all channels to which you subscribe. Apparently, that is not an option with AT&T, even if sitting less than 6 feet from the modem at my residence.
I will take this under consideration when looking into changing service providers.

No two providers are the same. Whoever woulda thunk! As already said, different contracts allow for different features with different providers.
Some providers even allow their apps to allow PiP on smart devices!
You claimed to have asked this question several years ago, yet you registered just a few days ago. Too bad you couldn't do the "lost password" function.
But now you have several answers. Ain't life grand?

Comcast allows viewing of the local NBC affiliate. No surprise really since they own NBC, right? What leverage does att have? Banging on U-verse TV at this point is shoveling sand against the tide.
If you really need to watch locals on your mobile device, look into a Locast subscription.

Comcast may not necessarily own the NBC affiliate, however.
