Hiding Ad Channels - This is getting ridiculous

I was already fed up with having to hide the garbage advertisement channels att forces on us on a regular basis, but this week it hit a new level of absurdity. They added SIXTEEN “Spiderman: No Way Home” channels. Does att offer any kind of lame excuse for this nonsense?

It's been awhile since they did this.  Yes, it's a (Edited per community guidelines) but I just go in and hide them.  There are much bigger things in this world to get upset about.

Yes, I’m aware there are bigger problems in the world. But it is an annoyance that I’m paying $180 a month for.

By the way, with all the big problems in the world, shouldn’t you be out there fixing them instead of posting 20 thousand comments on att message board?  Just sayin’…

I could not agree more.  I got 21.  That is just outrageous.  Is there a way to block this nonsense?

It is way more frequent and there are way more channels.  I am less willing to just say, "oh well it's just the way it is."  I do not like being jerked around like this.

This is what I get for a Uverse bill of $228?

We can answer your questions, mpw101.

We are unable to block the unwanted channels, but what we can do is, hide them from your guide. Here is how you Hide Channels on your guide:

  • Menu > Options > Channel Options > Hide Channels

This accepted solution is provided by one of our ACE/Experts, @JefferMC. Thank you sir for your help in providing this solution. You can find this solution in the Can I hide unwanted channels? forums article.

If there is anything else that we can do for you, please reach back out us again.

Thank you for posting on the AT&T Community Forums.

@mpw101 Hide channels by pressing menu, then selecting "options" and then "hide channels."

The owners/distributors of Spider-Man have most likely paid the owners of U-Verse to put the channel up. At least we can hide unwanted channels, unlike with other providers. I hid religion/shopping/SD/unsubscribed channels a long time ago.

You're more than welcome to call and threaten to cancel in order to get a discount. I've been doing it yearly for several years.

To ATT Help and baseballisback,

Can't tell you how much fun it was to scroll through "Hide Channels" and click 21 times this morning.  Yea I know how to do it.  Just increases the irritation as I click away AT&T"s annoying intrusion onto my TV.

Snide remarks? What would you call telling me “there are much bigger things in the world to get upset about”? If you don’t want to receive snide remarks don’t make them.

Nope. But I read it and responded. That’s how message boards work.
