Guide has changed for tv
Unfortunately I can't post this in the tv forum because I can't select a "topic". When I try to select that field it says nothing is found and I can free type.
I was watching the ovation channel while messing around at my desk and all of a sudden it was like the tv went off.
A moment later it came back on but was on a different show. I went to guide to return to the ovation channel and now "guide" has a menu on the side. I would rather just see the guide without the useless menu on the s

I don't know what uverse is, I've got att fiber optic and a box for both of my TV's, I don't think that has anything to do with the appearance of the guide.
Now when I select guide there is a menu on the left that says All. Recent. Favorites. Sports. Kids. Movies. TV shows. And a selection to change how guide is sorted.
It seems like when it when blank (it was not my tv going off) it updated something.
So far all I notice is the guide has changed, there may be other things I'm not aware of.

If you have "boxes" you either have UVERSETV or DirecTV Stream.
I've had Uverse TV for 13+ years and have never seen a guide like you are describing. Without knowing what service you have, it's hard to advise you since all TV services have a different guide format.
The best I can tell you is to reboot the box by pulling the power cord, waiting 20 secs. and return the power cord.
Edit: I'll move this thread to the Uverse TV forum for better exposure.

I found a YOUTUBE TUTORIAL explaining DIRECTV STREAM and I think this is showing the guide you are describing.
If you determine that you have DIRECTV STREAM, ask your question in the DIRECTV STREAM FORUM
*....how does anyone not know what TV service they're paying for?

The issue I am having is guide was one way, and in an instant it is a different way. I have the same service as I always had.
Just turned on my other tv and got a "welcome to guide" menu and the same "new" guide showed up. So resetting the box isn't likely the issue.
Apparently I have DirecTV stream. Why would there be different "guides" for different names and why would it randomly change?
Oh, and apparently U-verse isn't around anymore so I can't have what doesn't exist.
I have a fiber optic cable going from a pole to my home. I have the internet 1000 plan, I have purchased the devices that plug into my tv.
I've had this a year and just today the appearance of guide changed. I just wanted to know why.

I just called my neighbor, their guide changed too. Was it updated and why. That's all I want to know.
Well actually I want to know how to hide it so I can see more of the guide.

Then please ask your question in the DIRECTV STREAM FORUM (use link above) as no one here on the Uverse TV forum will be able to help.
It helps to provide pertinent information when you are asking for help.
Thread closed.
ETA: Uverse TV is very much still around. They just are not offering it to NEW customers.
