Yeah, us posters with the "ACE" designation are regular customers, but we do have some branches we can shake.
Lemme see what I can do.
And yeah, it has to do with the Columbus FOX affiliate moving from WTTE 28.1 to the WSYX 6.2 subchannel.
It's not necessarily a Sinclair thing (maybe it is?) but it also has to do with NTSC 3.0 or whatever it is...it's all tech stuff above my head.
Sinclair moved Fox to 6.3 because of NTSC...and that's when it "broke" on the app. Apparently the app isn't smart enough to pick up subchannels and since U-Verse doesn't have subchannels (except in cases like this) then we got to where we are.
Oddly enough, ION on channel 195 is WCMH 4.x, but that 4.x might be a simulcast of some national channel for all I know.
I think WSFJ on U-Verse 51 is also broadcast on a Columbus subchannel, although that might be the same situation as ION.
Generally though, the rule is "No subchannels on U-Verse unless it's a major channel." Oddly enough, the CW is not a major channel. Many U-Verse areas don't get the CW because it's one of those .2 or .3 channels.
WTTE is no longer Fox affiliated, instead it is affiliated with TBD (no, really, that's the name of the network). It appears that Sinclair has squeezed the Fox programming into their ABC affiliates feed as a subchannel.
@baseballisback if you can't help, maybe the two of you can at least commiserate. :)
Thanks for the reply. Strangely enough, 1028 does.appear on the on-TV Guide. I’m not sure why AT&T can’t update the app. It’s been awhile since the Fox affiliation changed and they haven’t bothered changing the app. I guess they’re too obsessed with AT&T TV to bother with us U-verse folks.
Even if Columbus has upgraded to ATSC 3.0, I believe the mandate requires the stations to continue supporting ATSC 1.0 transmissions for several more years. Getting Uverse, I mean DirecTV Stream to cope with this is anyone’s guess.
It's peculiar to me that it still is on channel 28 via U-Verse. Then again, I just looked at the Spectrum lineup and it hasn't changed there either. (Spectrum has TBD.)
I suppose it would make sense to move Fox to 63/1063, but I also suppose there's a good reason as to why they didn't.

Yeah. Fox Columbus is now WSYX 6.3 via antenna.
