ESPN on U-verse app won’t play thinks I am outside US

I am using the U-verse app in south Texas and the ESPN thinks I am outside of the US.  How do I fix this issue.   Every other live network works.   I am not using VPN.   

UVERSE always disappoints somehow.    Please help.

Hi @Jimmerpro, thanks for following up.

 

Sorry to hear that didn’t get it working. It sounds like there is something causing the app to “think” you are somewhere else or it just can’t verify the location at all.

 

The app only has 2 ways to determine where you are, GPS or IP Address.

Thinking along those lines, here are a few things we can suggest:            

  • Make sure the U-verse app has permission in the device settings to access the location on the device.
  • Try turning off your devices GPS to test if it works (or if it’s already off, try turning it on). 
  • With GPS off, try connecting your device to a different network (switch from Wifi to Mobile or a different Wifi if available).

None of that works for me - the problem is on both iphones in my house. One is an Iphone 6, the other is an Iphone SE which makes me think the problem is within the APP.  Any additional suggestions?

Looks like the issue has cleared up for me on both the Fire tv and Fire HD tablets.
