Direct TV versus Uverse
Understand that ATT does not want to support Uverse going forward. Is Direct TV any better or should I find a new provider?

What we know:
1) If you switch away from U-Verse, you cannot switch back.
2) There will be a "drop-dead" date for U-Verse. As of May 1, 2023, this date is unknown to the public. AFAIK, there's not even any rumors.
3) DirecTV is a satellite service and has been around for many years. There was a time when they had said they sent their last satellite into space. However, this was before the separation from AT&T. Could they send more satellites up? Nobody knows. There's also frequent rumors of a merger with Dish Network, although these mostly seem to be from Dish's side.
4) DirecTV Stream is a streaming service, similar to Hulu and Fubo. The major differences between DirecTV Stream and other streaming services are that they have the regional sports channels and that DirecTV Stream has an optional box that has channels, similar to a U-Verse receiver.
Opinion:
Personally, if U-Verse works for you, there's no harm in keeping it.
If it doesn't, then post your issue(s) and someone here can help. Remember that if you have issues with picture/sound, they could very well exist with your new provider, since it uses many of the same wires.
