Closed Captioning not working

The closed captioning is checked properly but this feature no longer functions on any channel.The trouble-shooting feature is not specific enough for the CC feature, so it is of no help. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Samsung TV and U-Verse S30 remote. I've had no difficulty using thisfeature for years. Thanks.

I powered down the receiver for 10 seconds, then restarted it. The captions now work.
