Channel guide has shows listed wrong

Uverse in the Indianapolis area has shows for 1325 Cartoon Network listed a night before they're actually on, Saturday is listed for Friday night/overnight, Sunday on Saturday etc.

AT&T gets guide info from the network.

If by network you mean channel, they obviously don't because I've already reviewed the schedule guide on the website for the channel and that's how I figured out it was a day off.

Yeah, it was a nightmare trying to record the right time slot for the new Rick & Morty last night... I recorded every episode listed for the entire night, and when I try to watch them today, are any recordings the new episode?  Nope!!!  One of them was actually American Dad, so that was infuriating... I wish I would have realized the schedule was a day off!!!  Luckily, I randomly found that the new episode aired tonight too (while the guide listed American Dad, of course!).

I'd like to add that this is a problem that happens a LOT with Cartoon Network throughout the day... In the afternoons, Gumball, Titans, and Creek are often all mixed up.

It may be the case that AT&T just gets the guide from a "third party", but this is a quality problem that has been happening with Cartoon Network scheduled programming for a long time...

Is there some CN intern that needs stronger coffee on Friday morning so they don't mix up the days of the week when publishing the upcoming schedule?

Let's help with your U-verse TV guide, @bdartt!

We've got plenty of U-verse TV troubleshooting steps to share.

Many receiver problems can be fixed by restarting your receiver. To do this, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. This takes 5-8 minutes and will impact any DVR recordings in progress. If you have multiple receivers, reboot your wireless gateway by unplugging it from its power source. Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in.

If that doesn't help, we suggest launching the Troubleshoot & Resolve tool on your U-verse TV. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Press Menu on the U-verse Remote Control.
  2. Scroll down to Help, then press OK.
  3. Select Information.
  4. Scroll to Troubleshoot & Resolve, then press OK.
  5. Select the service you want to troubleshoot and allow the interactive diagnostic test to run and complete.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to resolve. Other options may include dispatching a technician or speaking to a Customer Care agent.

Let us know how it goes!

Btw the troubleshooting does not work.  It is not the receivers its how ATT has it listed.  The troubleshooting only corrects issues where information is shown wrong and not where the channel guide itself is wrong.  An example I had to do this troubleshooting because once my guide was showing descriptions in French or another time where everything was just TBD/TBA.

Yeah, restarting the receiver... The go-to solution for everything.

BTW... When you call tech support, you get an automated system that forces you to restart the receiver and wait 10 minutes, and it actually makes you call back later before getting to other troubleshooting solutions or actually talking to somebody.

Folks, we all know the "restart it" fix by now, as it's used for just about any digital device problem... We don't need automated responses that assume the reader is stupid or has lived under a rock for 20 years.  Or am I wrong and too optimistic, and y'all get a ton of calls from folks who have inexplicably not tried restarting it before calling?

Okay, I'm done.

Thanks for sharing that information with us @bdartt, and we understand your frustration.

We appreciate @skeeterintexas for providing that explanation on our TV guides. We get our guide information from the network of that channel.

Please reach back out if you have any further questions. Thanks for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

@ATTHelp ATT Specialist Robert, as I said in a previous post, you clearly do not receive it from the network because the information you provide on the channel guide does not match what the network has listed on their website.  I've also verified with third party guides, you're the only ones who have it listed wrong.  I also don't appreciate your endorsement of skeeter instead of actually reading through each post and addressing and looking into the actual issue.

At one time, we were told AT&T gets the guide information from Titan TV.  Have a little look see over there and compare information.

@ATTHelp ATT Specialist Latoya, if you want to have me dm with you regarding this you need to actually give me time to open a dm myself.  I'm not glued to the forum and have a hectic schedule, hence the need to address the issue and get it resolved so that shows are being recorded properly.  Not everything happens on a M-F 9-5 schedule.

ATT Specialist Lacey, clearly I've already researched these steps.  You guys do a well enough job laying out troubleshooting via user guide on the receiver and on the website.

ATT Robert, I will address this again and emphasis it for any new ATT Specialists.  I previously shot down skeeter when he offered this same information.  If you go to their website you can clearly see the information is different from what you have listed.  This issue has only been happening for me since the beginning of October when all of a sudden weekend over night shows esp. on Cartoon Network (1325 in the Indianapolis market) has been getting listed a day off.  So you have what they have listed on their website for Saturday into Sunday and what is actually on during that time frame listed on Friday into Saturday.  Shows for Sunday into Monday are listed on Saturday into Sunday.  So there is a communication issue somewhere and I'm just looking for the issue to actually be looked into and feel like you're being very dismissive of my concern.

@skeeterintexas that goes against what you and @ATTHelp Robert have been saying about getting it from the network.  However yes the website you recommend also has it listed wrong.  TV GUIDE and several other websites still have it listed correct tho.  Again I have verified with the listing on the actual network's website and they have the programs listed for when they are actually on.

I’ve been having the same issue for a few months.  I go to watch something I’ve recorded and it’s the wrong show.  So Frustrating!  ATT needs to fix the problem.

@Samussam9    I've had UVerse TV for over 14 years (2007) so I've seen lots of changes.  I was there when we only had 1 HD stream and 2 SD streams.  Then it was 2SD/2HD.  It was exciting when we got the current 4 HD streams.

As I said, AT ONE TIME we were told that AT&T got their guide info from a third party, Titan TV and before that TVGuide TV.  Now we are told that they get the info from the networks.  Apparently this is a situation that is ever evolving.

As customers, we are not privy to all of the backroom negotiations.  I can only share my own experience or information that I have acquired from other sources.

So you're welcome.  Note to self:  No good deed goes unpunished.

ETA:  If there is some programming you are adamant about seeing and for whatever reason recording it is an issue, do some research and see if you can STREAM the program(s).
