When you say "CBS" you are actually referring to your local CBS affiliate.
In our market (N. Texas) we've never had CBS, ABC or Fox but NBC only. Apparently, for whatever reason, your local CBS affiliate has chosen to no longer participate in the Uverse app.
Looks like I’m going to have to cancel my U-Verse and go to Spectrum or ditch cable all together and go to Netflix, Prime and Firestick. I am paying for CBS and News Nation through ATT U-Verse service which is supposed to include ALL local channels. I do not subscribe to Directv and ATT U-Verse should be separated from Directv. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before this happened after ATT bought out Directv. Local channels should be required by law to be carried for free for public safety reasons.
This contract dispute with Nexstar has been going on now for several weeks with no end in site
Time to cut the cord and dump ATT after 45 years.m
TV providers guarantee service. They do not, and never have, guarantee(d) channels.
What will you do when greedy Nexstar wants an extortion from your new provider?
In the meantime, please look around the forums and reply to a current thread. Since the original comment was about another question, I'm gonna put this thread out of its misery.

Unless you are in an area that geographically cannot receive OTA stations (mountains, valleys, etc.) you can use an antenna to receive local channels.
