can't watch TV on uverse app (errors uvm 1001 and 996)

I tried this myself just over att cellular and saw the same message on iPhone.  Tried different channels and the message stayed the same.  Killed the app and restarted it.  The data-free message popped up and then video started streaming.  

There is one switch in settings for allowing the app to stream over cellular.  I’d also try toggling that to see if the error clears up.

As I’ve seen the error message myself, there must be something going on.  

Although this is not likely related, the app doesn’t stream video on an iPad 3 even though it’s technically supported.  As there’s no way to report these problems to att, I’ve had no choice but to let that go.  

I’ll poke around to see if those error codes are explained anywhere. 

I have an ipad 4. streaming has always worked until today.

the ipad is now streaming fine. not sure why it wasn't working before and why the error messages no longer appear.

Good to hear.  There are things like this and accessing other apps using Uverse credentials that can fail until someone takes action on server side.   Can take days sometimes to clear up.
