Access to FOXNOW and ABC denied

I used to be an AT&T Uverse user but dropped to AT&T fiber keeping my same account credentials since I kept the AT&T Internet gateway. Using these credentials I am able to validate and access HBONow. I am also able to access a collection of fairly recent (2 weeks old) FOX and ABC shows. But when I try to access FOX and ABC content (via my Roku or web browser) that is only 1 week old, I get denied access saying my provider does not provide access.

Fox customer service blew me off blaming AT&T - not unexpected.

Can anyone explain what is happening and what, if any, alternatives I have?

Thanks in advance

We can point you in the right direction to get your 3rd party app access resolved, hlcunningham_Raleigh!

Something jump right our at us, about your post. You stated that you were an AT&T U-verse user. Did that include U-Verse TV? If so ,and you have dropped U-Verse TV, then when you go to sign in, to the 3rd party apps, the app goes to verify your TV subscription and if the U-Verse TV subscription is not there, the access is denied.

HBOMax or HBONow, is not a full TV subscription.

If that is the case, then we have a suggestion for you. You can sign-up for DirecTV Stream and you can regain access to those 3rd party apps again.

You can sign-up for DirecTV Stream right there on the website and you can regain access to your apps the very same day.

If there is anything else that we can do for you, please let us know.

U-verse TV uses a unique set of credentials which authenticate user to access entitled content.  Your standard Att login won’t help with broadcast networks.

Internet fiber 100 was bumped up to 300.

Internet fiber 300 (the original) was bumped to 500.

If you have one of those, I believe you get HBO Max on a temporary trial basis.

Internet 1000 and select AT&T mobility plans get HBO Max included for no additional fee via a "back door" of sorts. As an example, I have Internet 1000 with U-200. I don't get HBO via my U-Verse boxes, but I do HBO Max.

HBO Now no longer exists.

Stand-alone apps like Paramount+, Peacock and Discovery+ may or may not include access to live TV. (Off the top of my head, the only one that does is Paramount+ which includes access to the local CBS.)

ESPN+ has access to some of their studio shows after they air on live TV. Some of their live sports may or may not be available on ESPN+, but this is rare and usually alternative broadcasts.

Most apps that include live TV only do so with authenticated access. If you want to watch a live TV channel, you'll have to pay for live TV.
