WUNC Audio Issues on DTVStream
Sometime in the last month, the audio on WUNC has become nearly unlistenable. No center channel, no surround channel. Only two channels and those two channels don't sound great. The only other post I've ever made on this site was about an audio problem on another local channel. Within about 2 weeks that was resolved and it sounds great now! I'm hoping the same thing happens this time. The OTA audio sounds fine. Very good actually. So I have taken to using my SiliconDust OTA DVR for the station. Would be nice if I didn't have to do that.

Sorry, didn't mean to give you the impression that this issue has been resolved. I made reference to another audio issue on a different channel which got resolved after I posted to this community. Unfortunately the WUNC issue is still active.

I think I figured out some additional information. Using my silicon dust over the air receiver, I've determined that when I set it to output only 5.1 it sounds the same way with the over the air of WUNC with no center channel and no surround as WUNC sounds on DirecTV stream. However, if I set it for digital pass through my receiver decodes surround and center channel. But I don't believe it is Dolby digital. I believe it is using coding similar to Dolby ProLogic. I don't believe WUNC is actually transmitting Dolby digital 5.1 anymore. Is there any way to get DirecTV stream to do a direct digital pass-through of what the television station is transmitting? I'm guessing probably not because I'm pretty sure you are using MPEG4, though the over-the-air and most TV stations standard is 8VSB.
Just trying to figure out a solution. If I have any of this information wrong, please feel free to correct me. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
