Watching sports DTV stream Box keep dropping internet connection
Title says it all. Only on sports. Wifi is 900mb up and down.
Happens on the box itself and when I open app on tablet. Buffer and drops are simultaneous on box and app.
It is not wireless bandwidth. Only happens on live sports. If I change channel to a movie all is good. Go back to game and buffer and drops again.
Seems everyone is having same issue for past few years.

Hello, Our team has determined that the buffering and the intermittent signal are happening between your internet network and the devices. Our system is not showing you are getting 900 Mbps upload/download either. You can run a speed test located in the network settings on your device to determine actual connection speeds. Or follow the instructions in the next link https://www.directv.com/support/article/000093620 Also, could you please confirm the name of the channel and program where you were experiencing this issue to investigate it further? - JhonR DIRECTV Community Specialist

NFL games in general for past 5-6 weeks.
it happened one other time on a different non live broadcast on HBO
The device was located a few inches from my phone when I did speed test.
I can try again, but then I miss the game because I have not resolved my other issue of not being able to record games because the box says they happened already...which is impossible.

Please tell me the speeds you think the box is getting. Even if not a Gig speed it should work to at least 30% of that.
Also what is the min speed required. I am an engineer and data is always a direction to the answers and can show what is NOT the problem.

Per your link I only need 80mbs.
I find it hard to believe I get 500 on phone and less the 80 a few inches away on your box.
Show me the data

You keep sending me the same link to fix my wireless. I tell you I am getting 500-900mb. Per DTV I only need 80 for good quality.
Seems there are all kinds of posts about choppy, pausing, graining and intermitant service. What is going on?

@thederby, assuming you have AT&T internet based on some comments you have posted.
Recommendations:
- make sure your RG is updated with the latest firmware
- reboot router and RG, switches, etc.
- if you have WiFi extenders, reboot them all
- do a reset on the box with the red button (not a factory reset)
- do you have any firewall running inside your home network - if yes, can you turn it off and see if that improves the performance of your box?
