Volume leveling

This predominantly occurs during evening hours, when watching a program, and a commercial comes on the volume goes way up. I’m new to DIRECTV Gemini air coming from Roku, which had such a feature that controlled that. I am using DIRECTV remote there is no feature. I have to pretty much sit with the remote control in hand to reduce the volume. My sound goes through a receiver and I have trimmed the input but it doesn’t do any good. Does Direct TV not have a solution for this?

The Gemini Air and Gemini have the same settings. At camp, I had the same problem, with audio up and down. I was using Surround sound setting, and by changing it to Stereo it corrected the problem and made all the audio, on my sound bar, the same.

You have a different set up. I’m using Gemini air and Direct TV’s remote on a Samsung TV.

On your DirecTV box, go to "Settings/System/Audio/Audio Output/" and try a different audio setting.

I do not have a box. I have Gemini Air. Under audio I only have two choices: Stereo or surround. It makes no difference.

I wish someone from DTV would respond.

Okay I will give it a try and see what happens.

I also changed the setting on my Samsung TV to “night”

And changed the input trim on my receiver to 2.5

I hope this works because I am not going to sit every night with the volume remote and constantly go back and forth. If DTV cannot control the volume output I may have to seek another option.

I must say I am happy with DTV up until this issue and the latest issue with the HOME button. I’m struggling to who thought it would be a good idea to cut down the timeline on the Guide. Sorry I’m venting, just frustrated.
