Update for Directv Stream Samsung TV App is garbage
The update to the Directv Stream app for Samsung TVs is horrible. 1. It’s not user friendly. Simply getting to the guide now has extra steps. 2. Continuous scrolling is gone. Once you scroll to the end of your channels, it stops. I have to scroll all the way back to get to lower channel numbers. It wasn’t like this before. 3. My recordings glitch. It will buffer at some point (on every single recording) then reload back to the beginning of the recording. 4. If you are using a basic Samsung TV remote, you cannot fast forward anymore. Only click forward 30 seconds at at time, which is outrageously frustrating when you are 2/3 of the way through a recording and it glitches then restarts…I have to click forward for a ridiculous amount of time. 5. It’s slow. Slow to load and slow to respond. Today it’s not loading at all.
Is there a plan to fix this or, best case scenario, revert back to the previous version? I’m currently shopping alternatives like YouTube TV, Hulu TV, etc. I will switch if this doesn’t get resolved.

DIRECTV regrets the issues users are having with the new app version, @Huskylady12. The DIRECTV App will be reverted to a previous version of the software. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

Some things never change. The Samsung App has always been garbage. A standalone streaming device, like Roku, FireStick, or DirecTV Stream box, will work much better.

Same here. It's constantly buffering, nothing loads, drops out all the time. I already looked for a replacement service but none of the others have our favorite news channel so that's the ONLY thing keeping us around.

Forget about the Samsung stream app. Get a cheap Roku or FireStick instead. Much better experience.

Well, I'm not paying $100 a month for an unusable service, and not going to buy another product to watch DirecTV.
So, no thanks, DirecTV.
