TVs not connected to each other
When I had Uverse, I could watch a show on one TV, turn it off, then go to another TV in the house and continue watching from where I left off. With DTV I have not had that option. When I had Uverse I did use their cable box so I assume thats why I could do that. Im using DTV with a Roku connected to each TV. The only way to continue on another TV is to record the show on the first. Is this normal?

Never assume one TV provider will have the same features as another.
DIRECTV STREAM is a streaming-only service. Essentially it is app based, not a traditional TV service. Rokus have no interaction with each other, they are their own separate connection.
Even normal DirecTV (satellite) doesn't have that feature in the truest sense that you want. With Whole Home DVR you can access recordings from each TV so it does share some accessibility.

That is not simply pausing live TV, but doing so and then picking up where you left off on another TV.

Pausing live TV is a feature that exists. But the way the service is implemented, there is no shared state between TVs - each is completely independent, so they don't share the "implicit" recording created by a pause. However, the "explicit" DVR recordings are shared by the entire account, so you can set a recording on one TV and watch the recording (even while it is still being recorded) on another. This is less convenient, but does work.

Pause Live TV DirecTV has.
But it does not have a shared feature for live TV to pick up where you left off on one TV to another like U-Verse.
